Rock Climbing Wall
*All persons using the rock climbing wall must sign a waiver before doing so. Waivers are good for the calendar year and must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian.*
Reservations required for both staff-supervised and belay-qualified climbing.
Call the front desk to reserve a 45-time slot. NO walk-ups. You must be 12 or older to make a reservation. Ages 5-12 may climb with a parent. Limit 4 people in the climbing area at any time, including staff. Extra family members may wait in the hall. When the wall is staffed, only auto-belays will be available.
IMPORTANT: Climbing holds and walls cannot be cleaned between ascents or daily in a manner that eliminates virus transmission risk. This means climbers MUST rigorously adhere to proper personal hygiene practices.
- Physical Distancing: Climbers must allow for appropriate space between other climbers, belayers, and staff.
- Hand Sanitation: Climbers are to disinfect their hands prior to and immediately after climbing by washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. .
- Proper climber hygiene should also include proper respiratory etiquette, and refraining from touching the face, particularly during and immediately following climbing.
Rock Wall Qualification Class
Qualification Class will be 2 hours long. Once class is taken, you will then prove to YMCA Staff you have retained the information before being able to rent out equipment. Class will be limited to 10 people. Qualification good for one calendar year.

To use the wall during other times, you must be Belay-Qualified.
These hours are when we will have staff available for anyone to climb. Otherwise, if you are belay qualified, there will be an opportunity to rent equipment at the front desk to rock climb on your own. Please note that Lead Climbing is not allowed.
*The rock wall will close 30 minutes early if there aren’t any participants on the wall.*
