Pool Rules
& Guidelines
Please follow these rules & guidelines to keep all swimmers safe and our pools healthy.
Family Pool
Children 8 and younger must have a parent or guardian within arm's length at all times while in the pool. Children 9 and older may swim on their own unless they are dependent on a life jacket, in which case a parent or guardian must remain within arm's length.
WATER SLIDE
The water slide is only open during certain hours of the day due to staffing. Please view the Family Pool schedule for hours. Persons using the water slide must be at least 48″ tall. Flotation devices and pool toys are not allowed on the water slide. Only one person can go down the slide at a time and must go feet first. Slide attendant is on duty.
POOL TOYS & Life Jackets
Members and guests may bring their own pool noodles and small toys for use in the pool. No balls or inflatable flotation devices are permitted. Life jackets brought to the YMCA must be Coast Guard approved.
Limited life jackets are available for use and pool noodles are available for purchase at the front desk. Depending on how busy the pool is, lifeguards have the right to decide what is allowed in the pool at any time.
lap pool
The lap pool operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Lap lanes are available during scheduled lap swim times and cannot be reserved in advance.
What to Expect:
- Be prepared to share your lane (up to 3 swimmers per lane).
- Use circle swim or split-lane techniques depending on the number of swimmers. Click the button below to learn more.
- Choose lanes that match your speed (fast, moderate, or leisurely) for everyone’s comfort.
- During water exercise classes, lap lanes not in use by the class will remain available and prioritized for lap swimming.
- Members doing their own water exercises must also share lanes (up to 3 people per lane).
- Lanes are subject to closure to accommodate YMCA programming.
Accessibility
Lifeguards are not able to assist members or guests with physical limitations when entering or exiting the pool. This ensures a safe environment for all and allows the lifeguards to keep their full attention on swimmers.
If you or someone in your care requires assistance, please plan to bring a personal aide or support person to help with safe entry and exit. Our team is happy to discuss available accommodations or answer any questions at the front desk.
Examples of approved swim attire:

Swimwear must be clean and designated for pool use
- The YMCA does not allow participants to enter the pool in street clothes.
- You must bring a change of clothes that are specifically designated for the pool only.
All swimmers must take a shower before entering the water
- Taking a cleansing shower before entering the pool helps to keep dirt and germs out of the water.
- Hair products and skincare products such as lotions, cologne, and make-up will cause chemical imbalances in the pools.
A swim suit is the best option for the pool with coverings of leggings or a long sleeve rash guard. You can find full body swim suits at:

Our indoor pools and hot tub will remain open during lightning storms. The facility's grounding and safety systems have been reviewed and meet the necessary standards to safely operate during these weather events. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and address any safety concerns as needed.
