Senior Fitness Assessment Program

The overall objective

of the Senior Fitness Assessment initiative is to provide a safe and effective variety of functional fitness tests specifically designed for independent adults age 65 years or older. These tests provide information and feedback to participants on activities for daily living (ADL) functions through recognized health and skill related fitness components: body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, speed, agility, balance and coordination.

The overall goal

of the initiative is to offer participants the opportunity to measure physical skills and abilities relative to other older adults, and measure improvement while participating the senior fitness program.

New assessments will be done at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Appointment will be required to do the assessments at the fitness desk.
