As we continue our Women’s History Month series, we are highlighting the leaders who are shaping the future of our region. Today, we are featuring Leslie Dingmann, a woman dedicated to the economic success of our community.
Leslie serves as the Business Development Director for Greater St. Cloud. Her work is all about creating opportunities and ensuring our area remains a vibrant place for families and businesses to thrive.
Leading with Vision
When it comes to leadership, Leslie was deeply influenced by Patti Gartland, the former President of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. Patti modeled how to lead with a clear long-term vision.
Leslie learned that the best leaders balance big goals with authentic relationships. This approach helps build a foundation of trust that makes large-scale community projects possible.
The Power of Local Collaboration
What Leslie loves most about the Greater St. Cloud area is the spirit of collaboration. Our local leaders don’t just work in silos; they actively encourage and lift one another up.
“That willingness to support each other makes our community a special place to serve,” Leslie says. This teamwork is a major reason why our region continues to grow and move forward.
Economic Developer of the Year
Leslie’s hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. She was recently named the Economic Developer of the Year by the Economic Development Association of Minnesota!
This award recognizes leaders who use creative thinking and collaboration to drive development. It is a prestigious honor that highlights her dedication to best practices right here in our backyard.
Recharging with Family
Even the busiest directors need time to reset. After a long day of meetings and development projects, Leslie finds her energy by spending time with her two boys.
Whether it’s a quick conversation or just being present together, her family helps her shift her focus. It is a great reminder that our personal connections are what truly fuel our professional success.
Leslie’s Advice
Leslie’s top piece of advice for other women is to take the initiative. If you see a leader you admire, reach out and connect with them.
Most leaders are more than willing to share their experiences and offer support. Often, all it takes is that first step of reaching out to open a new door for your career.
