Having worked full time in the fitness industry as both a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for the past 25 years, my experience is broad. I have worked with people just starting out on their path to fitness, athletes, pre and post-natal women, active seniors, and a lot of people in between. My joy comes from seeing others find joy in their life through fitness and wellness. I believe in balance – there is always time for exercise, but our bodies need rest, fuel, and even the occasional treat. I would welcome the opportunity to be a part of your fitness journey
After a few decades of a lifestyle that prioritized fast food and screen time I had a big wake up call. I leaned into fitness and nutrition to see what kind of difference it could make. With the help of lifestyle changes I have lost and kept off 50 lbs., improved my metabolic markers across the board, and experienced priceless improvements in self-confidence and mood. The more I learn the more excited I feel about fitness and crafting strategies for sustainable change with others. It's incredible how much an active lifestyle and mindful nutritional choices can improve not only your body, but also your cognitive function, mental-health and self-esteem. My goals are simple. To move with ease, to have the strength to meet the demands of an active life and do what I can to support my body and mind as it carries me through this journey at every stage. I'd love to work with anyone on a similar path of lifelong self-improvement, learning, and discovery.
I began my fitness journey playing various sports in middle school and high school. I was never a great athlete, and I was far from ever being the biggest or strongest on the team. Nevertheless I always loved working out with my friends and building a better version of myself both physically and mentally. When I was a sophomore in high school, an injury took me out of fitness for nearly a year. During this difficult time my passion for fitness exploded, especially for the sports of powerlifting and bodybuilding, and I dedicated myself to learning as much as possible about lifting weights, nutrition, and injuries. Now my passion lies in helping others make progress and reach their goals. The fitness industry can be a scary place with an overwhelming amount of information, and my goal is to help guide people through it with coaching, education, and counseling so they can become the best versions of themselves!
