Covid-19 Updates
The Y is proud to be a community leader in health and safety
When you visit the Y, some of the first things you’ll notice are the practices we’ve put in place to help our members and guests stay healthy, active, and safe. Contactless check-in, significant disinfecting of equipment, and ample places to sanitize and wash hands are just a few of the measures we’re taking.
Please review the full list of protocols below. This information is subject to change at any time.
What the Y is Doing
- Masks are required at all times: All staff, members, and program participants are required to wear a mask while in the Y facility, regardless of the activity, with the exception of swimming or showering. Masks are required on the pool decks. Face shields are an appropriate substitute for individuals who cannot wear masks due to medical or other conditions. Face coverings are available for purchase at the Membership desk.
- Touchless temperature taking and health screening: Every person who enters the Y will have their temperature taken and be given health screening questions to answer.
- Self check-in AND out: Members will be ask to self check-in using the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA App on their smartphone. This allows for limited contact entry. In addition, to ensure we do not exceed the maximum capacity of 250 people recommended by the State of Minnesota, we will ask you to self-check out.
- Physical distancing: All areas in the Y have been evaluated and re-configured, where necessary, to ensure members maintain 9 feet of physical distance between themselves and others. All fitness equipment has been configured to maintain 6 feet of physical distance.
- Day passes: Only sold from 5 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Age requirements: Anyone 14 and under must have a parent with them in the building.
What we’re asking you to do
- Stay home if you’re sick. Upon entering the Y, we’ll ask you three questions. If you would answer “yes” to any, please stay home:
- Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
- Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
- Are you experiencing:
Chills
A new cough or sore throat
Shortness of breath
New muscle aches
New headache
New loss of taste or smell
- Bring a towel, a water bottle, and a face covering. Towel service is not available. Water fountains are closed but water bottle fillers are open.
- Reservations required for some programs and specific areas of the building. Learn more and make a reservation today!
- At the Y, wash your hands before and after each activity.
- Clean equipment before and after use. Reduce the risk of exposure by wiping equipment down before and after your workout. Additional disinfecting sprays and paper towels have been placed throughout the building for your convenience.
- Expect reduced capacity. Per requirements and recommendations from MDH, we have reduced the capacity in the building and in many programs. Check how busy we are.
- Vending machines available. Our vending machines are available in the lobby. Coffee is not available at this time.
- Locker rooms available. Showers are available. Masks may be temporarily removed while showering.
In order to comply with current best safety practices, we will use a phased approach to re-open. A full list of our spaces and services is included below. We will update the below information as it changes and will send members frequent updates via email and our mobile app.
